New Netflix Documentary Focuses On Doctor Who Secretly Impregnated 50 Women

A new Netflix series is set to tell the real life story of the biological children of former fertility doctor, Donald Cline.

The documentary, titled Our Father, reveals how Cline secretly used his own semen to impregnate many women in Indianapolis, resulting in around 50 pregnancies.

Our Father airs on Netflix on 11 May and is expected to have all of us glued to our screens at the jaw dropping story of Cline's crimes... Especially as the trailer has already got expectant viewers desperate for the full story.

The trailer was shared on twitter and immediately had Netflix users eager for more details:

The trailer teases how it will tell the true story of Cline, who used his own sperm on females at his clinic rather than the chosen donors. As a result, he secretly impregnated around 50 women, with at least 50 children coming forward to discover they are all related.

And staggeringly, there are even more of Cline's 'children' believed to be out there.

The various mothers and their partners were all completely unaware of what he was doing and it took one of Cline's biological children to take a DNA test for his crimes to finally be uncovered.

The story focuses on one of Cline's secret children, Jacoba Ballard. In the series she narrates how she began to uncover the true extent of what Cline had done.

Ballard had always known that she was conceived thanks to a sperm donor and at the age of 33, she began to look for half siblings who shared her donor.

However, she wasn't prepared for what she found.

More and more siblings have been found as the years go on. Jason Hyatt, another of Cline's biological children, features in the doc.

In the trailer, he's seen talking about finding more and more matches: "When I opened up Ancestry, I had over 3,000 hits."

Another of Cline's secret children admits: "I dread every new match that comes, but they just keep coming."

The documentary will also reveal what has happened to Cline as surprisingly, he has never served any jail time for what he did.

When Cline opened his clinic in the 70s, rules around fertility speciality were vague and it was said to be common for doctors to pick the sperm donors they thought would be best for each patient. As a result, what Cline has done is technically not illegal.

But in December 2017, the disgraced doctor pleaded guilty to two felony counts of obstructing justice, due to lying during an investigation about using his own sperm at his fertility clinic, AP News reported. For this crime, he received a one year jail sentence, which was suspended resulting in no prison time.

Our Father will be released on Netflix on 11 May 2022.
