Buckle up for the ‘best movie’ of 2024, as people are praising a new film that is action-packed throughout.

There’s nothing like sitting down and realizing that Netflix has dropped another hit movie.

It was only on September 6 that viewers were delighted to see that a thriller had been added to the catalogue, and it’s certainly exceeded expectation.

The film stars the likes of Aaron Pierre, Don Johnson and AnnaSophia Robb, and fans just can’t get enough.

Even though it has been slated by some for ending on a cliffhanger, fans still think it’s given them everything they could have asked for out of a movie.

The movie tells the story of an ex-Marine (who is played by Pierre) after he attempts to post bail money for this cousin.

Once that goes wrong, he has to figure out the complex small-town corruption and ends up in a violent battle with the town’s local police chief.

Taking to Facebook, fans have been non-stop talking about why they love it so much.

One person wrote: “I was captivated. I loved it! Great movie. Nor sure what else people wanted from the ending. It was fine to me.”

Another called it the ‘best movie’ she’s watched this year.

Someone else said: “Dope with a twist so good,it took a long time before geering into the action but it was worth it..9/10 for me.”

So, there is a loyal following of the film already.

Rebel Ridge has also been a hit with critics, with a 95 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

One critic wrote: “Aaron Pierre is the new cerebral action hero in this slow-burn adrenaline-fueled thriller, packed with righteous anger and nail-biting suspense.”

Another said: “REBEL RIDGE is simply one of the best films of the year so far.”

So it seems as though it’s well-loved by both the audience and professional film critics.

Even the main actor has realized that the role is something completely different and the opportunity could not have been missed.

Speaking to Huffington Post, lead actor Pierre shared: “It’s not every day that an opportunity like this presents itself.

“The script is of such a high quality that I was immediately thrilled to even be in connection with it. And when I got connected with Jeremy, that was one of the first things I articulated to him - the nuance, details and dynamic nature of not only the script but all of the characters. It just is a beautiful screenplay.

“So, for me, it was undeniable. There’s no world where I would’ve said anything but yes to be part of this project.”

Rebel Ridge is available to stream on Netflix.
