With the amount of shows on Netflix, it can be pretty difficult to know exactly what to watch.

Whether that be sticking on classics like Stranger Things, Sex Education or Black Mirror, or watching something a little more left field, there is certainly a lot to choose from.

To get an idea of what everyone is watching, many tend to head to social media platforms to see the current talk of the town.

And it seems there is one Netflix series a lot of folks are still raving about, despite the first season being released back in 2017.

The show in question is Dark, which was the first German-speaking original series developed by the streamer.

The synopsis for season one reads: "When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids.

"The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town's troubled history - whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986."

And seven years on from that first season, co-created by screenwriters Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, Netflix subscribers are still talking about the thriller.

"This is the best Netflix TV show I've ever seen in recent years," one person on X, formerly known as Twitter, penned.

"Dark is the best Netflix show by far," a second added.

"What’s the best Netflix original of all time and why is it DARK?" a third remarked, while a fourth quipped: "Best thing on the Netflix: DARK."

At the time of writing, Dark has an impressive 95 percent critic score as well as a 94 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it a must watch for subscribers.

Many have also flocked to Facebook in recent months to praise the show.

One person said: "Dark is, simply put, a must-watch!

"The third season features a satisfying conclusion that could be considered one of the best we have seen from this genre."

"Most brilliant show ever," another person said, while someone else hailed it as an 'underrated masterpiece'.

"Honest review is the show is 100 out of 100," wrote a final user.

And lucky for you, there's three whole seasons of Dark available to binge-watch on Netflix right now.
