Viewers of a 'must-watch' Netflix documentary have discussed a new theory surrounding the show that will have you with the 'tissues at the ready'.
The newly released doc on the streaming platform tells the story of Jason Corbett, who moved from Limerick, Ireland to the US in April 2011 with his two children after marrying American Molly Martens.
This came after the death of Jason's first wife and mother to his children Mags, who died in 2006 from an asthma attack. Molly was hired as an au pair while she was traveling, and a relationship was soon kindled with Jason.

Jason and Molly soon relocated to North Carolina to tie the knot, and from the outside, they appeared to have the perfect family life, with Molly stepping in as a mom to Jason's young children, Jack and Sarah.
But in August 2015, the family's world was turned upside down as Jason was brutally beaten to death with a baseball bat and brick in his own home.
Molly and her father, retired FBI agent Thomas Martens, would ultimately be arrested over the death of Jason and were found guilty of second-degree murder, with them originally being sentenced to a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of 25 years in prison.

The pair have long maintained that Jason threatened to kill her and was abusive in their marriage, and an appeal meant Molly and her father were both released from prison in June 2024.
A Deadly American Marriage, which tells the disturbing story, released on Netflix earlier this month and includes interviews with those involved.
Many have taken to the Netflix Reddit forum after watching the documentary, with some sharing a theory surrounding Molly's appearance in the TV show. Viewers have speculated that her interview answers may not have been entirely spontaneous, with one Redditor writing: "Molly's interview seemed robotic and rehearsed, just like how the kids initial interview sounded. The way she described everything including feelings were as if someone who had written it for her."
Another viewer said it came across as though Molly had been thinking, 'this is how I should do interviews'.

Of course, Molly could have been rehearsing her real story to make sure she had it straight in her head before delivering it to the cameras, but the delivery has clearly left people wondering.
The new documentary is the talk of the town amongst Netflix forums, so its makers have been speaking to the press about the show.
Filmmakers Jessica Burgess and Jenny Popplewell told TUDUM: "This film is structured like a trial. It presents key arguments from both sides and allows the audience to draw their own conclusions about the case.

"From the very beginning, we approached both families. For the film to remain objective and balanced, we never discussed information we learned with either side."
