A fan-favorite movie starring Dwayne Johnson is streaming on Netflix and subscribers claim it’ll keep you ‘glued to your seat’.

In 2002, Johnson, 52, made his leading role debut as Mathayus in Chuck Russell’s The Scorpion King.

Since then, the wrestler has made multiple appearances as Lucas ‘Luke’ Hobbs in the Fast and Furious franchise, voiced Maui in Disney’s Moana and starred as himself in 2019’s Fighting with My Family.

However, many fans consider a 2018 science-fiction flick to be The Rock’s ‘best’ performance so far - and it’s available to watch on Netflix now.

The feature-length movie sees Johnson portraying Davis Okoye, a former US Army Special Forces soldier who moonlights as a primatologist.

While working at the San Diego Wildlife Sanctuary, Okoye befriends a rare albino gorilla named George, who soon escapes from captivity and goes on a rampage at the preserve.

A US government team re-captures George but he gives them the slip again before teaming up with a mutated wolf called Ralph and a crocodile called Lizzie.

When the trio begin to destroy Chicago, Okoye and genetic engineer Kate Caldwell (Naomi Harris) join forces and attempt to save the city.

If your interest is piqued then you can watch the trailer for the film, Rampage, below:

Rampage is directed by Brad Peyton and is the third time that Johnson has worked alongside the 46-year-old.

Following the success of Journey 2: The Mystery Island and 2015’s San Andreas, the Ballers actor signed on to work with Peyton again on Rampage in June 2015.

Johnson claimed he’d been swayed to join the movie as he loved playing the 1986 arcade video game that Rampage was based on in his childhood.

Despite critics awarding Rampage a measly 51 percent on the Rotten Tomatometer, the flick’s Audience Score sits at a healthy 72 percent.

It appears Facebook users love it too, with one viewer recently taking to LADbible's Netflix Bangers to write: “Brilliant film well worth the watch.”

Another typed: “Fire movie. Should have done a Rampage vs Kong movie.”

“Rampage and Skyscraper are my favourite movies starring Dwayne Johnson,” claimed a third fan.

And someone else penned: “I love it, I have watched it again & again."

If you’re already a Rampage fan then you’ll be pleased to know there’s previously been talk of a sequel.

In 2018, Peyton said a concept for a second movie had already been outlined while producer Hiram Garcia confirmed two years later that Warner Bros. Pictures was interested in a second instalment.

Rampage 2 has yet to be announced, but for now, you can stream the original film on Netflix and Hulu.
