People have been left terrified by the horror film on Netflix which includes terrifying sequences

Viewers on Netflix have been left terrified and delighted in equal measure by a creepy horror film available on the platform.

There are many different types of horror film. It could be psychological horror films like Psycho, or nauseating body-horror like that by David Cronenberg.

One film on Netflix plays into a more psychological aspect in its core concept, and fans are absolutely raving about it.

The flick revolves around the true crime-esque idea of being chased by a distant but relentless pursuer while you're completely cut off from help.

Jules Willcox stars in the flick.

I mean, who hasn't had nightmares about being chased by someone, or something?

Well, that's something which is very much at the centre of this movie, featuring only a small cast and a very intimate and scaled back approach to its storytelling.

To be fair, if you have a strong central concept and main characters, then you have everything you need.

So what is this film that's got people talking so much?

It's called Alone, which was released in 2020 and stars a small cast of just three people.

These are Jules Willcox as Jessica, Marc Menchaca as Man, and Anthony Heald as Robert.

Fair warning, there are some very mild spoilers below.

The movie starts with Jessica on the road as she moves house after losing her husband.

Suddenly, she is brake-checked by a car in front of her with a man getting out.

Needless to say, this is not the last time we see the man as things take a significant turn for the worse.

Jessica ends up isolated and running for her life as she is pursued relentlessly.

The psychological thriller directed by John Hyams was largely praised by critics, with a rating of 91 percent on reviews aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.

Critics praised the movie's paired-down approach to its story, allowing the characters and crushing weight of the circumstances to do their work.

It also went down well with audiences, who claimed that the movie had left them terrified.

Taking to Facebook, one person wrote: "Just watched Alone on Netflix UK and i was on the edge of my seat screaming at the TV. My heart is still racing. Love films like this!"

Viewers have been heaping on the praise.

A second thought it was a 'must watch', writing: "This was a such a good movie! From Beginning to the end!# must watch."

A third person wrote: "I watched this a good few months back it was a good film."

Alone is available to stream on Netflix now... if you dare.
