After earning a reputation for being savaged by film critics, Adam Sandler has turned things around and broken a Rotten Tomatoes record with his new Netflix film, which stars both his wife and daughters.

The brand-new Netflix flick You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, which was adapted from Fiona Rosenbloom's 2005 coming-of-age novel of the same name, has broken a career record for Sandler with a near-perfect score on the Tomatometer.

The film follows Stacy Friedman and her best friend Lydia Katz, who are navigating the ups and downs of middle school.

Stacy is busy planning her bat mitzvah and dreaming about her crush Andy Goldfarb. Check out the trailer here:

Things take a turn when Stacy is left devastated when Lydia steals Andy from her, causing the two friends to have a fall-out.

Sandler's daughter Sunny plays the lead role of Stacy, while his elder daughter Sadie also makes an appearance in the flick.

The Uncut Gems star plays Stacy's dad and tries to help her navigate the ups and downs of adolescence.

Joining Sandler in the flick is his Uncut Gems co-star Idina Menzel, who plays his wife.

Sandler's real-life wife Jackie is also in the film. It truly is a family affair.

Also appearing in the cast are Saturday Night Live's Sarah Sherman, Dean Scott Vazquez from Transformers: Rise of The Beasts and Samantha Lorraine of The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

And it's clear the movie has gone down a treat with fans with it currently at a staggering 95 percent critics' score, making it his best-reviewed film according to aggregate site.

Many have taken to social media to share their delight at the family casting with one Twitter user writing: "Love how Adam Sandler got his ENTIRE FAMILY casted in the movie, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, like I love that for him!"

A second praised: "Adam Sandler casting his friends and family in his movies, that now he’s moved on to the second generation is absolutely iconic."

"Adam Sandler movies always gone hit!" declared a third.

Another echoed: "One day, we need to discuss how Adam Sandler doesn’t have one bad movie."

"You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah is such a cute movie and I love that Adam Sandler did it with both of his daughters and wife!" wrote a fifth.

A final Twitter user added: "Adam Sandler is such a great dude man. A great dad too, you can tell in the movie he let his daughters be themselves."

You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah was released to Netflix last week (25 August).
