X-Men fans are flooding to social media in excitement after Marvel released the first trailer for a new series.

Earlier today (15 February), Marvel Studios took to X to reveal the first trailer for upcoming X-Men series, X-Men'97.

The series acts as a direct follow-up to the first animated series of its kind - The X-Men: The Animated Series - which came out in 1992.

Taking to X, Marvel Studios shared the first trailer for the upcoming release.

The caption reads: "To me, my X-Men. Marvel Animation’s #XMen97, an all-new series, arrives March 20 on @DisneyPlus."

And it hasn't taken long for fans to flood to the comments.

One user wrote: "Awesome!!! So ready and hyped for March 20th!!!"

"MY CHILDHOOD," another said.

A third commented: "This it s PURE LOVE FOR THE FANS! LFFFFGGGG!"

And a fourth resolved: "Gonna be glorious."

X-Men'97 is currently set for release on 20 March on Disney+.
