Andrew Garfield has revealed that he would be down to play Spider-Man once again, but only under specific circumstances.

The British actor spoke to PEOPLE for its Movies of My Life feature and didn’t hold back.

Garfield is widely known for his take on the popular superhero classic, as he appeared alongside Emma Stone, who played his love interest, Gwen Stacy.

Fans have since praised his adaptation, and a lot of people believe that he was the best Spidey there was to date.

The 41-year-old played the character, Peter Parker, a journalist who is bitten by a spider and turns into a spider-man hybrid with awesome, yet confusing powers for a teenager.

Not only can he swing from great heights using webbing, but he’s uber strong and nimble to a T.

Turning into a hero meant that Parker had to create an alias for himself, which was where Spider-Man came to fruition.

Along with his recognisable suit, Parker took to the streets to protect the locals from a wacky variety of bad guys on the regular.

He reprised the role in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, but he’s open to coming back once more.

When did Andrew Garfield play Spider-Man?

Garfield played the Marvel hero in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Man, 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.

He was the second person to take on that role for Marvel and fans adored his take on the dorky, yet heroic character.

What would make Garfield return to the role of Spider-Man?

Garfield spoke to Esquire and shared his demands.

He said: “I would 100 percent come back if it was the right thing, if it’s additive to the culture, if there’s a great concept or something that hasn’t been done before that’s unique and odd and exciting and that you can sink your teeth into.

The actor added: “I love that character, and it brings joy. If part of what I bring is joy, then I’m joyful in return.”

Who else has played Spider-Man?

Garfield spoke to PEOPLE about his film, particularly the third Spider-Man film he was in, which was where all three of the characters who have played the hero came together in a shocking multi-verse mashing.

He said: “I'm so happy that they had the courage to do it. It's such a great idea. I would never have had that foresight. So I'm really just proud and happy that I get to be a part of that. But if there's something that can be concocted and thought up that feels additive to the canon of that character, then for sure.”

The film franchise was first played by Tobey Maguire, in 2002’s Spider-Man, 2004’s Spider-Man 2 and 2007’s Spider-Man 3.

He also reprised his role along side Garfield for No Way Home.

Tom Holland is the latest actor to take on Marvel’s favourite hero and joined The Avengers gang before branching out to have his own three movies.

The first was 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, then there was 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home, and then his trio film with Maguire and Garfield in No Way Home in 2021.

He also teased a fourth instalment and fans are losing it.

All three actors had their own twist on the character, but all-in-all, fans loved each one of them.
