Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio have agreed that they will team up once again before their latest project has even come out.

The pair are currently waiting for Killers of the Flower Moon to come out, but it has now been confirmed that they’ll also be making a seafaring thriller called The Wager as well.

Scorsese has already signed on to direct the film, which is based on a non-fiction book by New Yorker writer David Grann, who also wrote Killers of the Flower Moon.

That film – by the way – will be the first time that Leo and Scorsese have teamed up since they made The Wolf of Wall Street back in 2013.

The latest film will debut next year, having originally been scheduled to premiere this fall.

However, it is believed that Apple Studios – who made the flick – are eyeing up a premiere at either the Venice or Cannes film festival.

Killers of the Flower Moon will star a huge ensemble featuring Robert DeNiro – hardly surprising for a Scorsese film – as well as Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, and Cara Jade Myers, among others.

Naturally, we don’t know too much about the adaptation of The Wager just yet, but we can give you a bit of detail on Killers of the Flower Moon.

The film centres around the mysterious murders of the Osage tribe of Native Americans in the 1920s.

The crime drama will follow the FBI’s investigation into what happened.

In an interview, screenwriter Eric Roth discussed working with both Leo and Scorsese.

The pair last worked together on The Wolf of Wall Street.

He told Collider: “I think this is my fifth year or sixth year on it.

"And there were some changes that came about that were interesting about what Leonardo was going to play in it.

“I think in the long run – we all had our moments of trying to figure out how best to portray things because the story is so impactful – and I think we ended up with exactly the right material and that Marty made the right decisions.

“I just think he’s going to make – and obviously I would say this – but I think [of] all my work, this one could be one of the great movies. I really mean that.

"I think it has all the ingredients, which I don’t want to jinx it, but the story is so important.”
