Christian Bale's Gorr The God Butcher Gets First Look In New Thor 4 Trailer

Gorr has been touted as being the best villain in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We've been given our first ever look at Gorr the God Butcher for the upcoming film Thor: Love and Thunder.

A new trailer has dropped for the fourth instalment to the Thor film franchise and the villain looks particularly spine-tingling.

Christian Bale will be playing Gorr and he promises in the new teaser to wipe out all the Gods because all they care about is themselves.

The trailer is full of colour and light, however Gorr is pretty much devoid of all that.

In one clip, you see his world is completely black and white and it appears Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) has a pretty hectic showdown with the God Butcher.

Thor 4's director, Taika Waititi, has made the bold assertion that Gorr the God Butcher is the best villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

That's a big statement, especially considering Thanos managed to wipe out half of every living being.

Speaking to AP News, the Kiwi director said: “It’s a great, really fun, weird little group of heroes, a new team for Thor with Korg, Valkyrie and The Mighty Thor.

"And, in my humble opinion, we have probably the best villain that Marvel’s ever had in Christian Bale.”

Gorr the God Butcher, should be an interesting character for Bale to play, with the alien symbiote first appearing in the Thor: God of Thunder comic book series published by Marvel Comics.

The character will make its live-action debut in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film.

The film is set to follow Thor’s, played by Chris Hemsworth, attempt to find inner peace following the events of Avengers: Endgame.

On the character, Waititi said: “Thor is just trying to figure out his purpose, trying to figure out exactly who he is and why he’s a hero or whether he should be a hero. I guess you could call it a midlife crisis"

The upcoming film features a seriously stacked supporting cast as well.

We have Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, and Vin Diesel as Groot.

In case it wasn’t obvious, the Guardians of the Galaxy will be well and truly along for the journey with Thor in his attempt to find inner peace.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on July 8 2022.
