Keanu Reeves says he’s down to film another Speed movie with Sandra Bullock but on one condition.

During the premiere of his latest film, John Wick: Chapter 4, a journalist for Access Hollywood asked what it would take for the actor to reunite with Bullock for a threequel.

“A great story, a great script,” he said on the red carpet.

The first Speed film will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. It came out in 1994 and went on to earn a colossal $350.4 million (AUD $527 million) at the box office.

No surprise there that movie studio executives green-lit a sequel, which was released three years later and generated $164.5 million (AUD $247.5 m).

However, the film was panned, scored a dismal 4 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, and is often referred to as one of the worst sequels ever.

And that's some stiff competition.

While Reeves was meant to reprise his role of officer Jack Travern, he didn’t love the script and was subsequently replaced by Jason Patric.

Instead of a bomb being on a bus like in the first film, there was a big heist on a huge cruise ship.

Reeves recently opened up about his decision not to appear in a second film on The Graham Norton Show.

"At the time, I just didn't respond to the script," Reeves revealed.

"I really wanted to work with Sandra Bullock, and I really loved playing Jack Traven.

"It wasn't against any of the artists that were involved in the project, but at that time — I'm sure we've all had this kind of feeling sometimes when things just don't feel right, and that was how I was feeling."

He added: "I loved Speed, but... now it's on an ocean liner?"

And just like the Titanic, that movie sank.

However, Reeves returning might just give this franchise hope after all.

And word on the street is that Bullock is down too.

Last year, while sitting down for a press junket for The Lost City with co-star Daniel Radcliffe, Bullock revealed she would be keen for a third movie if the Harry Potter star directed it.

“Speed 3: Horsepower, [Sandra] on a horse—My friends have been pitching it to me,” Radcliffe joked.

Anyone getting flashbacks to Equus right about now?

To which the Miss Congeniality actor responded: “If Daniel would direct Speed 3: Horsepower…that's what'll get me out of the house.”

Radcliffe added: “Don't threaten me with a good time.”
