Jeremy Renner has issued a message to fans following his terrifying snow ploughing accident on New Year's Day.

Earlier this month, the Marvel actor was airlifted to hospital after being run over by an "extremely large piece of snow-removal equipment" that he owns near Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

At the time, a spokesperson for the star told The Hollywood Reporter: "We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather-related accident while ploughing snow earlier today.

"His family is with him, and he is receiving excellent care."

Renner was released from hospital earlier this week to continue his recovery at home.

And it will be some recovery as the actor has revealed that he broke '30 plus' bones in the terrifying accident.

Renner posted to Instagram on Saturday (21 January) to share a picture of him in bed receiving physical treatment.

"These 30 plus broken bones will mend , grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens.

"Love and blessings to you all."

Despite only being up for a short time, the post has received close to one million likes at the time of writing, and that is rising fast.

Many famous faces plus fans have taken to the comment section to wish Renner well with his recovery.

Renner's statement comes after footage obtained by TMZ revealed how much pain the Marvel actor was in.

The site obtained audio footage of the 911 call made by a neighbour following Renner's accident.

In the clip, the unnamed neighbour tells the emergency services to come 'immediately', while Renner can be heard moaning in agony in the background.
