Jeremy Renner returning to acting for first time since snowplow accident

The Avengers star has hinted he may be returning to acting soon following the snowplow accident

Actor Jeremy Renner is set to return to acting after his horrific snowplow crash.

The incident in January 2023 has seen the Marvel Cinematic Universe star recovering for the rest of the year, and it seems that he now may be ready to start planning his return to acting.

Renner, 52, broke more than 30 bones when he was dragged under a snowplow while using it to free his Ford pickup truck from snow on January 1 2023.

A police report released at the time said: "The Pistenbully snow groomer began sliding causing Renner to exit the vehicle without setting the emergency brake.

"Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed based on our mechanical inspection that the parking brake would keep the Pistenbully from moving forward.

"When Renner attempted to stop or divert the Pistenbully to avoid injury to (his nephew), he was pulled under the vehicle by the track and run over."

Renner spent more than two weeks in hospital recovering from his gruesome injuries, and is now set to return to acting a year on from the accident.

He took to his Instagram page and posted a story from his Mayor of Kingstown costar Emma Laird.

In the post the star alluded to the pair of them sharing a scene in the upcoming third season of the show.

This would be Renner's first on-screen acting performance since the accident at the start of 2023.

Co-creator and star of Mayor of Kingstown Hugh Dillon told Comicbook earlier in the year: "It was the biggest relief it was such a rollercoaster because when I got the news I wanted to fly out and find him and see him.

Emma Laird hinted she's set to share a scene with Renner.

"Then he sent me a video the next day, the biggest relief in my life, because it was so funny and profane and I was just like, OK, he's gonna come back.

"He's just so funny. He's like a brother to me. It's like, you know, we've worked on this show for two years."

He added: "This is my show I created with Taylor Sheridan and he's [Renner] just unstoppable. He's an exceptional talent and the crew loves him.

"The cast loves him. I love him, and it was, and my world stopped. I just want him to recover and then to get the video and, hey, you know, just profanity, profanity.

"You know, it just made me laugh and cry at the same time and I just thank God he's OK and he's, you know, on the road to recovery."
