Jameela Jamil said she was accepting of 'every ounce of shade' after a first-look image of her She-Hulk character was shared online.

Jamil is set to star in the upcoming Marvel series as a villain named Titania, who will go up against the titular character played by Tatiana Maslany.

The series is not set to be released until later this year, but with filming and reshoots having wrapped earlier in 2022 fans are now starting to get a glimpse of what they can expect from the series.

In a post on Twitter, the account Pop Crave shared a snap of Jamil in character, wearing black trousers and a corset with gold fringe. She appeared to be strutting through a courtroom with a look of determination, but Jamil responded to the image to imply it hadn't shown her at her best.

Along with a skull and a laughing-face emoji, Jamil wrote: "Omg this photo.. Guys... I accept every ounce of shade here, but in defense of my excellent hair stylist, this is just my hair after a 14 hour stunt day in Atlanta heat."

The actor went on to claim her character had just been 'upside down', which likely had an impact on her hair, and assured the stylist actually 'did a *great* job on the show', adding: "I promise. I love her. Boobs look ok tho?"

Jamil's response came amid a flurry of GIFs and memes joking about Titania's look, with one of Jamil's fans claiming the creators 'did my girl SO dirty' while another commented: "I just wanna know who thought that THIS was okay????"

The actor followed up her original tweet with another post reiterating the fact she was prepared for some backlash, writing: "I dutifully accept the crowd attack."

She also responded to a fan who assured they would 'get it when the show comes out', saying the look 'fits the character'.

As well as Maslany, Jamil stars in She-Hulk alongside Mark Ruffalo in his well-established role of Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination and Benedict Wong as Wong, as well as Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

The nine-episode series, set to air on Disney+, follows Maslany's character as she navigates life as a single attorney in her thirties who also happens to be a giant green hulk.

Jamil first confirmed her involvement in the project with a post on Twitter in 2021, in which she said she was 'so excited' to be involved.
