Fans are praising a new Hulu series set in a family-run restaurant, with many former hospitality workers saying it gives them ‘flashbacks’.

Comedy-drama series The Bear stars Jeremy Allen White as fine dining chef Carmen - known as Carmy - who has to return to work in his family's Italian beef sandwich restaurant, The Original Beef of Chicagoland.

Alongside White, The Bear stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Ayo Edebiri and even has a guest appearance from Jon Bernthal. You can check out the trailer here:

The show's eight-episode season dropped last month and viewers have already binged their way through, giving it rave reviews.

Posting on Twitter, one fan said: “I cannot believe that no one’s talking about The Bear on Hulu. The show perfectly captures the chaos of a kitchen. Truly amazing from beginning to end.”

Another wrote: “Need a new show? I highly recommend The Bear on Hulu. A wild anxiety ridden look at the Chicago restaurant scene. It’s chaotic and aggressive fun that has a strong heart that sneaks up on you. Jeremy Allen White is terrific in a gut wrenching performance. Great stuff.”

The Bear has already received rave reviews.

Others said the show is so true to life that it’s reminding them of their own time spent working in kitchens.

“If you’ve worked in a kitchen before, check out The Bear on Hulu,” wrote one former kitchen-worker. “It’s pure chaos, fast-paced, and will take you right back to getting yelled at. Anyone else get flashbacks?”

And someone else said: “Episode 7 of The Bear on Hulu is the most realistic depiction of running a restaurant.”

Anybody who has worked in hospitality have been urged to watch.

While another praised: “The Bear on Hulu is a masterpiece, it’s definitely one of the most realistic depictions of the restaurant industry I’ve ever seen & the details are impeccable.”

As well as being widely complimented on social media, The Bear has an unbeatable 100 percent on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, alongside a very impressive 95 percent audience score.

On IMDB the show fares almost equally as well, with a solid 8.5 score, with episode seven getting a near-perfect 9.6 out of ten.

The Bear is available to watch on Hulu for those in the US - as yet, the show does not have a UK release date.
