Horror as a genre is one that is incredibly difficult to carry over to TV, so when a show tries it out, it’s worth sitting up and paying attention.

Generally, with the necessity for maintaining tension and fear, drawing it out over two hours is a difficult enough task.

For a show to manage that they must do it for several more hours, but if the concept is good enough, this is exactly what they can do.

One horror show on AppleTV+ is able to do just that, with two seasons out so far, both of which have left viewers hooked on the edge of their seat, but also with numerous questions.

The show is called From, and it has critics and fans alike raving.

The show focuses on a small American town in which the residents are all trapped by mysterious forces.

Whilst I’d love to tell you more about it, you honestly should just take my word, and go in with as little detail as possible. Check out the trailer:

With a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes, bolstered by a high average rating of 7.7 on IMDb, the show has gone for two seasons, with a third on the way.

In Meagan Navarro’s review for Bloody Disgusting, she called the show ‘a captivating and nightmarish mystery box show that more than delivers on horror’.

Sharai Bohannon, reviewing From for the Anatomy of a Scream podcast network, said: “From is one of the best shows on TV. It's a terrifying puzzle that continuously raises the stakes.”

They went on to say: “It is anchored by an amazing cast of characters that the series has no problem killing off when the time is right.”

Brian Tallerico, writing for RogerEbert.com called the AppleTV+ show ‘A smart, extremely watchable horror show’.

The second season is just as positively reviewed as the first, leaving fans full of questions for season 3.

One 9/10 review on IMDd said: “This show was so, so, so much better than I expected.

“I am still left with so many questions that need to be answered especially after the last scenes of season 2 finale (which isn't necessarily a negative point). I just think that we deserved at least a few answers before having to wait for season 3.

“But I've got to say that after the finale, I was mind-blown!”

Say it quietly, but this seems to be continuing the trend of AppleTV+ having one of the best TV streaming lineups around.

Beyond From the streamer also now has Presumed Innocent, which was so beloved fans begged for – and are getting – a second season of.

Add to that Severance, my personal pick for the best show on TV, and AppleTV+ is clearly the place to be for dramas, albeit lesser known ones.
