Fans Left Divided By Sex Scenes In Trailer For New Harry Styles Film

Film fans have had mixed reactions to sex scenes featured in the newly-released trailer for Harry Styles' upcoming film Don't Worry Darling.

Directed by Olivia Wilde, the psychological thriller stars Styles and Florence Pugh as Jack and Alice, a couple living in a seemingly happy suburban neighbourhood in the 1950s.

Alice forms part of a group of housewives who spend their days looking after their husbands; cooking, cleaning and ensuring 'discretion', though the trailer shows that sitting down to dinner isn't the only thing Jack and Alice get up to at the dining table.

Cracks start to form in Alice's picture-perfect life when she starts to question exactly what it is the husbands are getting up to when they set out to work every day, and things look to quickly take a mind-bending turn as she delves deeper into the mystery of the 'Victory Project'.

The trailer has been praised by many viewers who have described it as 'phenomenal' and 'incredible', and while there is definitely a lot to unpack a number of internet users have zeroed in specifically on the sex scenes between Styles and Pugh's characters.

Some fans of the actors can't wait to see more of the pair together, with one Twitter user who has 'a crush on them both' joking they will 'literally go insane' while watching the sex scene, while others seem to want to avoid the experience altogether.

"Don’t Worry Darling looks good but I genuinely don’t wanna see Harry Styles and Florence Pugh have sex, I don’t," one viewer wrote.

For the most part, though, film fans are encouraging people to view the sex scenes simply as part of the bigger picture, rather than as an isolated reason to see the upcoming movie.

One Twitter user criticised the use of the sex scene between Styles and Pugh's characters to 'promote' the film, while another said they didn't want to 'have to deal with fangirls not understanding it’s not just about Harry Styles having sex'.

Following the release of the trailer, one wary viewer wrote: "I’ll ask everyone to table the focus on the sex when you’re watching the trailer of Don’t Worry Darling for the first time ever. The entire team worked very hard to make sure that it would be a good take as a psychological maze. Be gentle. The leading lady is brilliant."

Though there will no doubt be some fans who are drawn to the film on the premise of seeing Styles' sex scenes, hopefully the twists and turns of the film will be enough to win them over as fans of it in its entirety.

Don't Worry Darling is slated for release on 23 September.
