Fans Are Rewatching One Of Will Smith's Worst Ranked Movies On Netflix

People are watching the low-ranked movie on Netflix and sharing their thoughts

Fans are rewatching one of Will Smith's lowest rated films on Netflix.

Smith has been in a news rather a lot lately. And while he'd probably rather we think of his recent Oscar-winning performance in King Richard, some fans are taking the opposite approach and watching some of his not-so-celebrated performances.

According to Rotten Tomatoes, Smith's film Gemini Man is certified 'rotten' on the popular film review site's 'Tomatometer'.

Still, fans are re-watching the film to mixed reviews, a few even compared it to Smith's recent Oscars incident.

Gemini Man follows the story of Henry Brogan, an assassin who's just about ready to retire.

However, his plans to bow out of the profession after one last job are interrupted when he becomes the target of a mysterious operative who knows his every move.

Who could this operative be you might ask? Well it's a younger, faster, clone of Brogan.

Don't worry that wasn't a spoiler it's literally revealed in the trailer, and it's something that fans were also quick to comment on on Twitter, after Smith slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Oscars.

The film is now available to stream on Netflix, but people have had mixed reviews.

One fan wrote: "Despite its flaws, Gemini Man still manages to be an entertaining crowd-pleaser."

However, another one added: "Gemini Man is yet another underwhelming movie led by Smith, made doubly so because he also plays his own clone. Big ideas can sometimes get in the way of good judgment, and despite all the talent involved, hardly anything about this movie works."

Another added "It feels lazy, like a toy boat pushed out into the Pacific Ocean. Even two Will Smiths can't save this sinking ship."

Currently, the film has just 26% on the Tomatometer, but it does rank pretty highly on the audience score with 83 percent.

The film was directed by Ang Lee, the Oscar-winning director who was at the helm of Life of Pi and Brokeback Mountain.

While the storyline for the film didn't get much love, the effects did, with one user commenting: "The technology of Gemini Man may be amazing, but the narrative is anything but."

Gemini Man is Lee's second attempt filming a high frame rate (HFR), using a 3D digital format, Lee's first experiment with 3D was for Life of Pi in 2012.

HFR films are often criticised for being somewhat unpleasant looking, but this is something Lee wanted to solve in exploring the hyperreal look further.

"There is no bad media, there’s only bad artists," the director noted as per Indie Wire.

"Film got so good because for over a hundred years, genius after genius, craftsman after craftsman, years of audience feedback, it got really sophisticated."

He added, "I just believe there is a very different beauty, a dreamlike-ness in digital. I’m trying to find it," which, if reviews are anything to go by, Lee did, as the highest praised part of the movie was the use of technology.
