A new Netflix documentary, which has debuted at number one on the streamer’s charts, has left fans with their ‘jaws on the floor’ and convinced many they will ‘never date again’.

The show, which released earlier this week, details ‘the dark side of love’ according to the synopsis, showing various horrible (and oftentimes criminal) relationships.

Understandably, it is leaving some fans to swear off dating as they watch the horrible things done to the victims the show focuses on. Check out the trailer:

The show is called Worst Ex Ever, a continuation of the series Worst Roommate Ever.

In a similar format each episode covers a truly evil ex, all of which it is fair to say are a terrifying portrayal of how awful humanity can be.

With one episode titled Dating the Devil focusing on a monstrous abuser, and another titled Married to a Monster featuring someone hiring a hitman after their wife left them, the show is horrifying.

Add to that a man who lied about being a cop and got his ex-girlfriend arrested on false charges after abusing her, and someone who tried to frame their partner for murder in order to win custody, and you can see why people don’t want to go outside after watching it, let alone date.

One fan tweeted about the show saying: “Worst ex ever just gave me so much confirmation on why I will probably never date again. there’s so much safety in solitude.”

Another focused particularly on the first episode Dating the Devil, saying: “The first episode of worst ex ever on netflix is nuts”

A second fan chimed on in on that particular episode saying: “Just started Worst Ex Ever that just came out on Netflix and holy s**t that guy Ben Foster in the first episode is an absolute monster.

“And the police allowed that guy to brutally attack multiple women for years while doing nothing about it...”

The second episode, which focused on a woman who was falsely arrested for allegations made by her abusive partner, was another that fans particularly resonated with.

One viewer tweeted: “These Worst Ex Ever true crime episodes that just dropped on Netflix are horrible. The second one Betrayed by the Badge is so bad. That poor woman. She went thru hell & back but finally got vindicated. Thank goodness.”

Another posted: “Watching Worst Ex Ever on Netflix. Episode 2 had me HEATED omfg. F**k Jerry Ramattan, I hope he’s getting his ass beat in prison as I type this”.

Worst Ex Ever is available to watch on Netflix now.
