The long-awaited Alien Vs. Predator anime series has been finished.
Both sci-fi fans start to celebrate though, the 10 episodes will not be released anytime soon.
According to a former 20th Century Fox exec, the as-yet-unreleased show has been in ‘sat’ at Disney for some time.
Whilst appearing on the Perfect Organism podcast last month, studio exec Joshua Izzo was also able to share some incredible details about the Alien Vs Predator series.

In fact, the episode even revealed that the anime had been in the works before the release of Alien: Covenant – back in 2017.
"There is, sitting at Disney now, at 20th Studios, 10 episodes of a fully completed Alien vs. Predator anime series that I produced," said the former licensing director.
Continuing, he added: “It’s done. It’s in the can. It’s mixed; it’s finished. It was produced and story cracked by Eric Calderon and Dave Baker, two unbelievably crazy talented guys."
Whilst Izzo was unable to say why the show hadn’t been released following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, he did explain how he’d played a key part in the series.
Izzo is a fan of the franchise and even founded the franchise's official holiday, Alien Day, so he was eager to support the series.

He even pitched an Alien vs. Predator anime to Dave Bixler, head of Home Entertainment, and Jeffrey Godsick, head of Consumer Products, winning the approval of the studio execs.
"I said, 'Hey listen, I want to pitch this idea of a direct-to-DVD Alien and/or Alien/Predator and/or Predator animation that we, the consumer products division, can sell against,” he explained.
Keen to get the show off the ground, he encouraged the men to ‘the masters of our own destiny’ rather than await another film.
At the time, Alien: Covenant was still in development, but this wasn’t an issue as 20th Century Fox owned the rights to comic books based on the franchise and had done for nearly 30 years.
With this in mind, Izzo then suggested that they adapt the original comic book, developing a storyboard and bringing on directors – according to fan site Alien vs. Predator Galaxy.

Set after Alien 4, the series was made in the ‘deep future’ so they didn’t to conflict with the films’ existing timelines.
“Finally we all come to an agreement.” Izzo revealed, adding: “We green light it and we go. We’re making 10 episodes. It was going to be released as three direct to DVD and/or streaming movies here in the West. 10 episodes on Japan television.”
Sadly though, the much-rumoured series has has been kept under lock and key at the House of Mouse.
