Adam Sandler Sets Another Record With Hustle On Netflix

Hustle was released on Netflix earlier this month (June 8)

Adam Sandler has set yet another record with his new film on Netflix.

Sports drama Hustle sees the actor play a basketball scout and critics have been raving about it ever since its release on 8 June.

Far from from his roles in Grown Ups and Blended, the 55-year-old has definitely showcased his ability to switch things up.

The official synopsis for the film reads: "After a down-on-his-luck basketball scout discovers an extraordinary player abroad, he brings the phenom back without his team's approval."

Earlier this month, as shown on Rotten Tomatoes, Hustle became his highest rated film, according to his fans, at 92 percent.

Happy Gilmore (85 percent) sits in second with Reign Over Me‘s 81 percent coming third.

However, pretty remarkably, the fans' rating of the film is exactly the same as the critics' rating.

Both sitting at 92 percent, it seems that fans and film critics might finally be on the same side for once.

Praise for the film continues over on Twitter, where one person placed Hustle among the actor's best, as they wrote: "I just watched Hustle on Netflix and holy f**k was this movie good. Adam Sandler is continuing to do some really good work and I truly think this might go down as one of the best sports movies ever at one point. If ya love hoops, give it a go!"

Another fan commented: "Hustle is the best movie I’ve ever watched in my life. Adam Sandler really is the goat."

A third added: "Hustle is arguable the best basketball film to date. Everything that Semi-Pro isn’t. Adam Sandler is some sort of artist."

While a fourth thought: "Adam Sandler continues in a rich vein of Netflix form with Hustle. One of the best performances of #AdamSandlers career.

"Adam put himself in a vulnerable position in this film and he nailed it. If you love basketball then you will love this movie."

Someone else added: "I encourage everyone to watch Hustle. I will never hear another bad word about Adam Sandler again.

"His next film Spaceman is going to be even better. I will die on this sword. Adam Sandler is the best. That is all."

Hustle is available to watch on Netflix now.
