A new trailer has dropped for Hustle, Adam Sandler's upcoming basketball drama.

The film stars Sandler as Stanley Berens, a 'down-on-his luck basketball scout' who takes a chance on a promising foreign player with a rocky past and tries to bring him to the NBA.

    Check it out below:

As the trailer shows, if you're expecting toilet humour and an appearance from David Spade, you'd better readjust your expectations. Hustle is set to mark Sandler's return to serious acting in the vein of The Meyerowitz Stories and Uncut Gems, both of which brought critical acclaim and a handful of award nominations for the Happy Gilmore star.

Staring real-life NBA star Juancho Hernangomez alongside Sandler and hip-hop/acting icon Queen Latifah, Hustle is produced by none other than basketball legend LeBron James himself, so it's got some serious sporting credentials as well as blockbuster star power.

The film is co-written by Will Fetters, whose previous screenwriting credits include A Star Is Born and Remember Me, as well as video game scriptwriter Taylor Materne, who has worked on games for the NBA including NBA 2K19 and NBA 2K20.

Sandler is well known for his love of the New York Knicks, and has won plaudits for his own hoop skills as well, so perhaps it was only a matter of time before we saw his two great passions collide in this way.

Hustle marks Adam Sandler's ninth collaboration with Netflix through his production company Happy Madison, and we're sure most fans will be happy to hear that its set to be more in the vein of the films we mentioned earlier, rather than more mixed fare like Hubie Halloween and Murder Mystery.

Netflix has yet to confirm a release date for the upcoming movie, but you can expect it to land on the streaming platform at some point not too far down the line in 2022.
