Police intervened after they bumped into a pizza delivery driver who was only tipped $2 after hiking through a snowstorm in an 'affluent' neighborhood.

Over the past week, many parts of the US have been hit with the deep freeze - but that doesn't mean the work stops for service providers.

In Indiana, Connor Stephanoff was filmed walking in the treacherous conditions battering Brownsburg with pizza in hand, ready to deliver it to customers.

As per footage captured by Avon Police Department Lieutenant Richard Craig, the Rock Star Pizza employee had initially driven to complete the order, but was forced to walk the final bit after a crashed school bus blocked the snow-covered road.

Lieutenant Craig was also on hand to help residents navigate the road, when he advised the pizza deliverer to get to safety.

Stephanoff told the police officer he had to walk in the snow to complete his $40 delivery.

“Did you get a good tip?” Craig asked, to which Stephanoff replied: “Two dollars."

Completely stunned, the police officer said: "Two dollars? Are you kidding me? Cold-blooded! Two dollars. Look at this man. This man walked through hell and high water to deliver a pizza."

In the description to the now-viral TikTok video, Lieutenant provided more context to the situation.

"It was the beginning of his shift at 4:30p on a Friday afternoon, BUT he was determined this family got their pizza," he wrote.

"This is in a more affluent neighborhood, and I’m sure he thought he would be rewarded properly for his RARE display of PRIDE and DEDICATION to his work- that is often times not seen by some of his generation.

"But more so, he wanted to ensure this family got their pizza to their door! So they did not have to leave the confines of their warm, comfortable, AND VERY NICE home."

Feeling a bit sorry for the lad, Craig gave Stephanoff $15 and also set up a GoFundMe page.

As of Saturday (January), that fundraiser has surpassed a whopping $16,000.

Rockstar Pizza, Stephanoff's employer, wrote on Facebook: "I think what makes this story resonate is that at one time or another, any of us who has worked in a customer service position, has been Connor. We've gone over & above what anyone could ever ask of us, and the effort wasn't appreciated.

"If not for Officer Craig, this would have just been another delivery shift for Connor.

"From the bottom of our heart, thank you for showing Connor so much love & support. You have no idea how much this positively affects his family."
