Dogs have already proven themselves to be extremely clever, but one chihuahua appears to have reached a whole new level of intelligence as he can 'speak' in a perfect British accent.

Sure, a lot of dogs have been trained to bark on command when their owner tells them to 'speak', but I'm not talking about your typical woof here.

This is a sophisticated, coherent delivery of the word 'hello', spoken as if from the mouth of a high-class university professor.

But the thing is, the word doesn't come from a professor; it comes from a dog named Fuggers.

    Yep, you heard me.

Footage of Fuggers sharing her greeting was caught by her owner Shana Gilbert, from Bedford in the UK.

In the clip, Fuggers can be seen fidgeting as she apparently tries to get Shana's attention. She wags her tail and shuffles along the floor before coming to a standstill, apparently deciding that words will have a better impact.

Fuggers is clearly a sophisticated dog.

It's at this point that Fuggers comes out with a noise that sounds exactly like the word "'ello."

Knowing the world needed to know about her vocal little pooch, Shana shared the video on TikTok where it quickly racked up millions of views.

Shana, who runs the Pawmaster Dog Grooming centre with her partner Anthony, told Jam Press: “I was having a rare day off, watching a film with my blanket and snacks.

“Fuggers wanted on the sofa as she cannot jump on, so I started filming her as she makes these hilarious noises. She suddenly said ‘hello’."

Shana recalled laughing at the noise before responding to Fuggers to say 'hello' back to her.

She then rewarded the pup by lifting her on to the sofa and treating her to a Dorito.

Fuggers quickly went viral, for obvious reasons.

Shana continued: “Nothing came of the video until I posted it on TikTok. I posted it, went to bed and woke up to 30,000 notifications on my phone, and then it went from there."

Viewers are still sharing their thoughts and feelings about Fuggers' British accent, with one sharing a jokey response to the pooch as they wrote: "WELL TALLY HOO MY DEAR CHUM, A BRILLIANT MORNING AIN'T IT."

"I was not ready for that," another viewer admitted, while a third wrote: "Someone get this dog some tea and crumpets."

Shana adopted Fuggers when she was 15 months old, and it took the owner a few months to 'socialise and get her used to everything'.

However, the video proves that Fuggers eventually became a more confident pup, with Shana adding: "The thing that amuses me the most is that Fuggers is totally unaware she is an internet sensation.”
