If you are holding hands wrong with your partner, that might just be it for your relationship, sorry.

Well, that is according to one TikTok influencer who has caused a stir on the platform.

When it comes to ensuring a relationship flourishes, there are things that you expect from your partner, that they communicate well, they show affection, that you spend time together etc.

But writer and social media influencer, Eli Rallo, has suggested hand holding can also reveal where your relationship is at and where it could be going.

In a video that has gone viral on TikTok with over 9 million views, social media users were left debating in the comment section about whether what she was saying was fact or fiction.

Rallo chose to use pop star Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce as examples for her theory.

“I just want to make something abundantly clear, [intertwined finger handholding] is something very different to [paw handholding],” she said.

“[Intertwined] is giving ‘last night we said I love you for the first time now we can’t stop saying it’, ‘we can’t keep our hands off each other’, ‘we have both mutually agreed this is the greatest lay of our lives’ [vibes].

“[Paw] is we hate each other but we are still together because it is convenient.”

Rallo then proceeded to show Swift with some of her previous boyfriends and photos of them holding hands together, but not with interlocked fingers.

She also went on to show a photo of Swift and Jake Gyllenhall holding hands with interlocked fingers.

“This leads me to believe two things, and this is a working thesis,” she continued.

“Number one, hot men are always going to hold hands [with interlocked fingers]. Number two, men who are good in bed are always going to hold hands [with interlocked fingers]."

“You should never settle for one of these paw things.”

TikTok users were quick to weigh in with their own experiences.

“I can’t do intertwined fingers bc my husbands hands are way bigger than mind and it hurts. So I hold his fingers or paw and I love it,’ one user remarked.

“Fingers interlocked hurts my fingers, my man has big hands and I have baby hands,” another added.

While others sided with Rallo as one user said: “Never settle for the paw thing. Your takes are always spot on Eli,”

“After some follow up research, I would like to strengthen this theory bc Harry and Tom Hiddleston held her hand properly. Calvin Harris did that paw.”

What’s your take? How do you hold hands with your partner?
