Have you got a baby on the way? Well, you'll want to make sure you don't hand your child any of the names that are said to be banned in the US.

When you look at some of the names Elon Musk has given his kids, then you'll be well aware that the US has some rather relaxed naming laws in place.

While this can differ from state to state, with Kentucky having no restrictions in place, they can be imposed for practical reasons.

Most states prohibit using baby names with numerals, emojis, or symbols in them, because why would that make much sense?

Meanwhile, others have character limits for the first, middle, and last names, but that isn't nationwide.

Some names are reportedly banned across the States, though you can probably work out why.

The Makeshift Project podcast recently spoke about the name list in a video posted on YouTube and many viewers flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts.

Some people seemed to suggest the list is not always abided by.

"As a teacher I can confidently say NO one is enforcing this lol," one wrote, while a second claimed: "As a paediatric nurse, I can’t tell you how many King, Queen and Messiahs I’ve taken care of."

And a third remarked: "Lies! I work with 2 children who have these names, King and Messiah. We live in the USA."

America’s 'rarest' baby names have also been revealed and some might surprise you.
