A Wyoming mom is 'lucky to be alive' after being offered a 'poisoned drink' by a stranger on New Year's Eve, according to reports.

For many, New Year's Eve is a boozy night as we celebrate new beginnings and hopefully a better year than the last.

With the drinks flowing, it can be tempting to take a beverage off a stranger, but Kailey Kline's story should be a stark reminder to never do as such.

She was bringing in the New Year with pals at the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill in Cody when she was handed a drink by a stranger.

KTBX reports less than ten minutes after Kailey, 23, returned home after being picked up by her fiancé, she began experiencing seizures and foaming at the mouth.

The mom was flown to St. Vincent Regional Hospital after her partner called 911, and spent several days there sedated and on a ventilator.

Health experts have concluded Kailey likely consumed antifreeze, a liquid coolant that is typically used in car engines - so certainly something any human shouldn't be consuming.

Because of the sweet taste, it can be difficult to spot the antifreeze when mixed with a drink.

Kline’s mom told Cowboy State Daily in an interview that her daughter rarely goes out drinking, adding that Kailey is 'probably too trusting' of strangers.

Amber Espinoza says her daughter can remember what the man who gave her the drink looked like, though police are yet to identify a suspect.

Officials are continuing their investigations and have confirmed they are currently conducting interviews.

A GoFundMe has since been set up by Espinoza, where she praised her daughter's fiancé, Shawn, for being by her side.

“Shawn has been her rock! He’s stayed calm, humble and positive in such a chaotic situation,” she wrote.

"He showed up every day, and spent every visiting hour by her side. He fed and combed her hair when she was too weak to do it herself. He has the patience of a saint! Had it not been for his instincts to call an ambulance, this could have been a very different scenario."

Thankfully, Kailey has now returned to her nearest and dearest, but she certainly has a long road to recovery.

She is not permitted to drive for three months, while doctors monitor her seizure activity. She will also continue to undergo physical and occupational therapy to aid her recovery.
