Shia LaBeouf has opened up about his marriage to Mia Goth, explaining that he 'failed' during their time together.
The 39-year-old spoke about the couple's attempt to fix their marriage during an interview on Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan, explaining that the pair were 'deeply unhappy'.
Shia explained: “You got to deal with that and God puts that on your heart for a reason.
“And I feel like it’s not new heartbreak. I don’t want to talk too much about it. It’s not my story alone to tell but my side is, you know, I failed my marriage, and so I had to own up to that.”

Shia continued: “I made a lot of mistakes early on before we tried to have a baby. I had violated trust in a big, big way.
“We tried... to fix it, and it was impossible, and we both became very unhappy. And it’s not good to be unhappy around a baby. It’s not good to be unhappy around kids.
“But it’s important to be proximate. You must be around. And this became quite a weird Tetris.”

Shia was quick to praise Mia, who he shares three-year-old daughter Isabel with, adding: “That’s a good girl.
“That’s one of the best girls that ever lived. She’s incredible, that woman. Incredible... all the time. 10 out of 10.
“We’re in a good spot. I mean, this isn’t new... We’ve been there for a while, we’re trying to figure out co-parenting, and we’re good. Even through all this, she gives me grace.”
The pair started dating in 2012 before marrying in 2016 and splitting two years later. They later reconciled in 2020.
Shia was recently arrested on February 17 for allegedly hitting two people outside of a Royal Street business in New Orleans.
It's alleged that the actor was kicked out of the business due to a disturbance during Mardi Gras.
The New Orleans Police Department said in a statement: "Once removed from the building, the victim reported being struck by LaBeouf who used his closed fists on the victim several times. The victims reported that LaBeouf left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, one anonymous bartender claimed that LaBeouf was 'terrorizing the city', while another alleged that the actor 'asked three times' if he could use his credit card at their bar.

Meanwhile, one bar owner in New Orleans claimed that 'he was here, and he was totally chill'.
The actor was arrested again over the weekend with an additional count of battery, however it's not immediately clear if the new charge is related to the original incident outside the Royal Street & R Bar.
