Eyebrows can make and destroy empires, it would seem, and Kylie Jenner would know that more than anyone.
The reality TV star turned businesswoman has suffered an enormous blow to her follower count after she made a comment that many interpreted as an attack on Selena Gomez.
But, on the flip side, Selena Gomez has gained more than 10 million new Instagram followers after Jenner and Bieber's little tantrum.
Confused? Let us explain.
Jenner and Hailey Bieber, who is married to Justin Bieber, who used to date Gomez, took to Instagram shortly after Selena shared her eyebrow oopsie daisy on social media.
Gomez, 30, over-laminated her own 'brows on February 21, which is where you fluff those bad boys up and then apply a lotion over the eyebrow so it is semi-permanent.
But to get it wrong? A cardinal sin. Queue dramatic music.
Jenner hopped on Instagram to pop off on her stories. She zoomed in on her brows with a close-up selfie with the caption: "This was an accident ?????"
How COULD she?
Jenner then shared a snap of her and Justin Bieber's wife both zooming on their eyebrows in a FaceTime video.
The two were accused of being childish bullies, which prompted Jenner to deny #eyebrowgate was even a thing when people slammed them for the apparent swipes at the Only Murders In The Building actor.
"This is reaching," Jenner declared. "No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly."
But even a tepid attempt at plausible deniability couldn't save the Keeping up with the Kardashians star, with her social media following dipping only one day later.
It initially dropped by 124,711 followers, Social Blade data observes.
Days later, her follower count took a nose-dive for the worst.
She ended up losing almost one million followers on Instagram with a total loss topping in at a hefty 750,000 followers on Monday (27 February).
So what does this tell us, girls and boys? It doesn't pay to be petty.
