Ryan Reynolds recalls 'traumatic' TV experience that was 'actual hell'

Ryan Reynolds has recalled a 'traumatic' TV experience that was 'actual hell'.

Ahead of the upcoming release of new musical Christmas movie Spirited, the Deadpool actor has opened up on a pretty unique experience on Korea's version of The Masked Singer.

Watch below:

When it comes to entertainment value, Reynolds absolutely delivers as he sings his heart out to a song called 'Tomorrow' from Annie while disguised as a unicorn on stage.

While promoting Spirited alongside co-star Will Ferrel, the 46-year-old told Today: "I’ve been doing this job a long time, and you go on these international tours, and you start saying, ‘What’s the weirdest show we can go on?'

“This was before The Masked Singer was in the US So they said, ‘They have this show called The Masked Singer, which is huge in South Korea.’

"I said, ‘We’re doing this show. We have to do that show.'”

He recalled: “When I was there, I was like, 'Why did I sign up to do this? This is horrible! This is truly horrible!'

“I don’t know this song, I don’t know how to do this. It was traumatic. What’s crazy is I was in actual hell.

“At the time, no westerner had been on that show before, so it was a big surprise when I lost the mask.”

Commenting on the now viral clip, one fan said: "I still can't believe he did this. Not only did he go to a totally foreign country, he went on a show. Not only did he go on a show in this foreign country, he sang on it.

"Not only did he sing on said show in a foreign country, but he did it dressed up as a unicorn. This man is on a totally different level."

Another added: "He really just came to Korea, drank Soju, met big celebrities in Korea like EXO, fan-meetings and now he went to Masksd Singer and sang his heart out. He did that. Am I surprised? No my man was born with a whole package of talents."

Someone else said: "This is exactly what deadpool would do though.

"It reflects the sense of humour that Deadpool has, to visit a foreign country and sing a happy song dressed as a unicorn.

"Smart guy. This is a clever way of promoting Deadpool."
