Pink says her 11-year-old daughter can't have a phone until she can prove social media is good for you

There's one very good reason why you won't catch her kid doing TikTok dances anytime soon.

Pink might have social media, but her 11-year-old daughter Willow sure as hell doesn't.

And that looks like it might not change any time soon, so don't expect to see her daughter taking part in any TikTok dances anytime soon.

The 43-year-old singer sat down with KTU 103.5 FM for a bit of a chat about her new album, her life and her family.

During her appearance on the Carolina With Greg T In The Morning Show, the 'So What?' singer revealed her daughter is the only child in her class that doesn't have a phone.

For a very good reason, she added.

"My kids don’t have a phone, and my daughter is the only 11-year-old in her class that doesn’t have one," Pink said.

"It’s hard. A lot of my friends have their kids on TikTok, and I don’t."

She then went on to reveal what she told her daughter, who has clearly used that line in arguments with her mom about phones before.

"I told Willow, ‘That just doesn’t move my needle. They’re not my kids. You’re my kid'," the star said.

Pink, real name Alecia Beth Hart, told the radio hosts that conversations about social media use are hard when Willow is the child of someone who is famous.

"She has a lot of eyes on her," the 43-year-old mum of two said.

The 'Who Knew' singer then added how her daughter's mental well being is more important than her 'cool' factor amongst her peers.

"I told her, point blank, 'If you can produce literature from a reputable source that tells me that social media is good for you, then you can be on it. Otherwise, good luck'," she said.

Pink added: "She could be a lawyer, she could literally pass the bar. She’s always right."

The star didn't rule out Willow one day finding that literature, but she isn't holding her breath.

Multiple studies back up Pink's point, revealing that social media can have a detrimental effect on the mental health of youngsters.

And it would appear the singer is all about giving her daughter valuable and positive experiences.

For her daughter's first job, she will head out on tour with her mother and she'll be paid just like any other kid would for their first-ever job.

“Willow has a job on tour,” she told Today.

"We just had to go over minimum wage and it’s different from state to state."
