Pedro Pascal declined a chance to read thirst tweets on the red carpet and people are fully supporting him.

The internet’s newest crush was caught in an awkward red carpet moment at the premiere of the third season of The Mandalorian.

He's embraced his heartthrob status in the past and was asked about it during the lie detector test interview series by Vanity Fair last year.

Last week, a TikTok showing the 47-year-old in an interview with Access Hollywood went viral on social media after he was asked to read some thirst tweets aloud, which are basically cheeky sexual comments.

The reporter asked: “Would love if you read some thirst tweets the internet has for you.” She then showed The Last of Us star her phone. “You can read them to camera.”

Pascal seemed fairly amused by the tweets and spent a few moments reading them.

But after literally raising his eyebrows, he refused to read the tweets. “No,” he replied with a big smile. He was still a good sport about declining the chance to read them aloud.

Pascal’s fans on social media have come out in support of the actor and have spoken against the whole ‘actor reads dirty tweets’ trend which certainly has the internet in a chokehold.

Countless commentators also called out a double standard and asked what would happen if a female Hollywood star was asked to read thirsty tweets on the red carpet.

It appears the video has been deleted from Access Hollywood's TikTok account.

After a Twitter user posted the clip on Twitter and dubbed it ‘the worst thing I’ve ever seen’, another fan quote-tweeted the video and said: “The ‘actor reads thirst tweets’ videos that outlets do are in a controlled and consenting environment where the actor can refuse tweets they aren’t comfortable with. Can you f***ing imagine approaching Margot Robbie the way people approach this guy?”

Similarly, another fan wrote: “This Pedro Pascal thing is bizarre. I'm not a misogynist but I do think our culture fails to see the double standard sometimes. Imagine if Scarlett Johansson was called a 'Cool, slutty mommy' and asked to read a collection of thirsty tweets while on the red carpet. Just weird.”

Another Twitter user shared: “I feel like Pedro Pascal is getting the actress treatment where he can't go to any interview without being sexualized its wild.”

Someone else quipped: “I lose 10 years of my life everytime and interview asks him about the daddy thing or thirst tweets.”

A fifth complained: “I literally feel so bad all they do is call him daddy and talk about how he's a heartthrob. Yes he's gorgeous but the guys in two major series rn like? Talk about his work? Like jfc leave him alone.”
