Nicki Minaj breaks social media silence to congratulate Rihanna on second pregnancy

Nicki, who is also a mom, sent her well wishes to Rihanna

Nicki Minaj was one of the millions of viewers who tuned in to Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime show last week, where the pop icon revealed her second pregnancy.

Now, the ‘Super Freaky Girl’ rapper has returned to Instagram to congratulate Rihanna following the surprise announcement.

Last week, in the days following the Rihanna’s incredible 13-minute Super Bowl set, the ‘We Found Love’ singer shared a bunch of photos from her cover shoot for British Vogue.

One of the pictures showed Rihanna posing next to her and ASAP Rocky’s nine-month-old son, whose name has yet to be revealed.

The Fenty Beauty mogul reflected on the picture and her second pregnancy in the caption, writing that she didn’t know she was pregnant with her son’s younger sibling when the snap was taken.

“How crazy both of my babies were in these photos and mommy and no clue,” she gushed.

The chart-topping rapper, who is also a mom to a son, jumped in the comments to spread some love to RiRi.

“A lil pretty boy already,” she said alongside a heart-eyes emoji. “Congratulations on the new bundle of joy, Queen.”

The ‘Fly’ rapper also gave Rihanna’s Halftime show the ultimate sign of approval: “Bodied Super Bowl,” she concluded.

Rihanna opened up about becoming a mum in her British Vogue interview, saying that she doesn’t remember life before she gave birth to her son. “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever,” she shared.

“You literally try to remember it—and there are photos of my life before—but the feeling, the desires, the things that you enjoy, everything, you just don’t identify with it because you don’t even allow yourself mentally to get that far, because it doesn’t matter.”

After performing at the sporting event last week while wearing a red Alaïa puffer coat over a red jumpsuit and shiny bustier by Loewe, viewers instantly noticed her baby bump.

Not long after the explosive spectacle finished, a representative for the 34-year-old confirmed she is indeed pregnant.

Minaj meanwhile welcomed her son, whose name she hasn’t revealed but is referred to affectionately as ‘Papa Bear’ on her social media, in September 2020.

Rihanna performed a medley of her biggest hits at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, last Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the performance, the Barbadian star said she thought twice about performing after only recently giving birth when she was asked.

“I was like, ‘You sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this,'” she said per The Hollywood Reporter.

The world is grateful you said ‘yes’, RiRi!
