Nick Cannon's New Year's Eve interview branded 'painful' to watch as he's asked if he's getting a vasectomy

Andy Cohen quizzed Cannon after he welcomed his 12th child

Ever been asked if you're going to get a vasectomy live on TV in front of millions of people? Me neither, but poor Nick Cannon has. Happy New Year!

The TV presenter made headlines time and again in 2022 as he grew the number of kids to 12, with his youngest, Halo Marie Cannon, arriving on 14 December.

He's previously made references to getting a vasectomy, but was seemingly caught off guard when questioned on the subject by Andy Cohen. Check it out below:

Cannon appeared via video link on CNN’s New Year’s Eve coverage from Times Square in New York last night (31 December), where he chatted with Cohen a few hours before the city rang in the new year.

During the interview, Cohen joked that Cannon was 'single-handedly populating the earth'.

"What’s your plan? A vasectomy?," he continued.

Cannon momentarily held his smile and didn't react, apparently taken aback by the question, but rather than laugh along with the joke he decided to hit back at Cohen by pointing out that it's none of his business.

"Is that what you want me to get? This is my body, my choice," Cannon responded.

The encounter left TV viewers cringing, with one person responding: "This is so painful."

Another commented: "Nick is right. it’s his choice to do what he wants," while a third wrote: "Just turned on the tv and andy cohen is asking nick cannon if he’ll ever get a vasectomy goodbye"

Other viewers criticised Cannon's use of the term 'my body, my choice', claiming it is 'not his term to use' due to its associations with pro-choice, pro-abortion activists.

Viewers were left cringing over the footage.

Though Cannon's response sparked mixed reactions from viewers, Cohen praised the presenter for his answer, saying: "Yes, good for you, good answer!"

After moving past the vasectomy conversation, Cohen went on to ask Cannon whether he had any advice for 'new fathers out there'.

Cannon responded: "Uh just operate out of love - I mean some people might say that's what got us here in the first place but that's what I would always do."

The father-of-12 joked that he took on the persona of 'Saint Nick' throughout the festive season, saying he was 'travelling on my sleigh throughout the nation making sure the kids were happy and full of holiday cheer'.

Cannon shares his 12th child with model Alyssa Scott, who announced the news on Instagram with the caption: "Our lives are forever changed."
