They may have made their red-carpet debut back in July, but Robert Irwin has finally confirmed his relationship with Rorie Buckey.
It seems they are the ultimate celebrity power couple, being the son of Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin and the niece of Heath Ledger, respectively.
Whilst the teenagers were all smiles in their Instagram photo, there were a fair few heartbroken fans in the comments.

However, fans had had their suspicions for awhile about Irwin and Buckey’s blossoming relationship after they appeared at the Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One premiere together in early July.
As stars like Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell and Simon Pegg all took to the red carpet, the Crocodile Hunter’s son arrived in a smart, black tux.
Meanwhile, Ledger’s niece wore a sleek black dress as she posed for pictures beside the young conservationist.
It wasn’t long until they confirmed their new relationship, with a wholesome update on social media.
Buckey was the first to tell fans, sharing a photo of her and Irwin on Instagram last week, with the caption ‘Adventure buddy’. (How sweet is this?)
However, it was long until Irwin also made things official by sharing a photo of him and his girlfriend next to a tree with pink flowers.
In the caption on Instagram, he then added a pink flower emoji, a sunflower emoji, and a sun emoji.
Understandably, some fans are pretty heartbroken after seeing that Irwin is now off the market.
In the comments on the conservationist’s picture, one fan wrote: “My condolences to all the broken hearts in Australia.”
Another joked ‘The whole female population is on life support right now’, while another added: “So many girls’ hearts just broke.”
However, the post did get the seal of approval from Irwin’s big sister Bindi who wrote: “Love you both!”
She also commented on Buckey’s post, sweetly writing: “You guys.”
Whilst they are official now, it’s taken a long time for the Aussie couple to confirm their relationship status.
Last year Irwin and Buckey were first spotted cuddling on a beachside date in Queensland in November.
The couple were later spotted with Irwin’s mum, Terri, at Australia Zoo a month later with Buckey’s dad, Nathan, confirming their relationship to the press.
However, he refused to go into detail about the young lovebirds with them later confirming their status nearly a year later.
Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait to get another update from the adorable Aussie pair.
