A musician awkwardly paused his show mid-performance to scold a mother who had her child with her during the show.
Colombian rapper and singer Maluma was performing in Palacio de los Deportes, Mexico as part of his three-night run of shows when the incident happened.
While on stage, his attention was seemingly drawn to a mother and her child.
A video of the altercation has started doing the rounds on social media and Maluma has received support from his fans for his actions, and what he said to the mother in question.

Maluma queried about why the child was here, not due to any age restrictions to his shows, but rather the loud volume, as it appeared the child didn’t have sufficient ear protection.
Speaking directly to the mother in the crowd, Maluma can be heard saying: “With all due respect… how old are they?
“A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this f****** high? Where the sound is this loud?”

The rapper continued to scold the mother for bringing the child and warned about the damage the high volume could have on the child.
He continued: “Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility. You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real.
“I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”
As the video has begun to circulate, people have been weighing in with their own opinions.

While some have argued it was a little bit harsh for the performer to ‘embarrass’ the mother, others have praised the star for his maturity and care for the safety of the child.

One user writing on Twitter commented: “Ok this is extremely real and responsible of him to do but crazy because he embarrassed that parent on another level.”
Another said: “Protecting fans, especially the most vulnerable, should always come before the performance, and he made that crystal clear.”

A third added: “Good on Maluma for speaking up, protecting a child’s safety should come first.”
With another agreeing and adding: “Yikes, that's a tough call but good on Maluma for looking out!”
While another simply said: “Respect to him.”
