After months of speculation, Jennifer Lopez officially filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, and there's no one mourning Bennifer's demise more than Lopez's engagement ring.
The news of the couple's divorce broke on Tuesday (August 20), as the actress reportedly filed legal documents for separation. According to Variety, Lopez filed the documents herself without an attorney and listed the couple's separation date as April 26, 2024.
The outlet further reported that the documents filed don't indicate whether or not there is a prenuptial agreement between the two. But Lopez did allegedly waive spousal support and is asking the judge to deny Affleck such support as well.

While the news has come as a shock for some, and others not so much (some fans think they caught the exact moment their marriage was over), there's no denying that some bits of Bennifer's proclamations of love are now painfully awkward — particularly Lopez's engagement ring.
When Affleck proposed (for a second time, more on that later) in April 2022, he bestowed a beautiful, green diamond engagement ring and had it specially engraved with a heartwarming promise.
Speaking to Apple Music One's Zane Lowe in a 2022 interview, Lopez revealed that Affleck had the phrase 'not going anywhere' engraved on the ring.
"This one he put 'not going anywhere' because that's how he would sign his emails when we started talking again," she told the host. "Like, 'Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere.'"
Unfortunately people did end up going places in fact, with Lopez filing for divorce on the anniversary of their second wedding ceremony.
The couple used to date in the early 00s giving rise to Bennifer as a myth, a legend, a belief system etc., and even got engaged before calling off the wedding in 2004.
Almost two decades later, the pair rekindled their romance in 2021 and tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony on July 16, 2022. They proceeded to have a second wedding ceremony in Savannah, Georgia on August 20 that same year.
This marks Lopez's fourth marriage, with her most recent pre-Affleck being to singer Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, this marks Affleck's second marriage.
The actor was previously married to Daredevil co-star Jennifer Garner, who he shares three children with, Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel.
