Grammys viewers have been flooding to social media in debate over Jay-Z's acceptance speech.

Despite holding a plethora of awards, at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday (4 February) Queen Bee lost out on 'Album of the Year' to Taylor Swift - who's been honored with the accolade for four years in a row.

After getting to the stage to accept his award, Beyoncé's husband and fellow musician Jay-Z decided to call out the Recording Academy, however, his speech has divided viewers.

Taking to the stage with the pair's daughter Blue Ivy, Jay-Z accepted his Dr. Dre Global Impact Award.

Rather than reflecting on his own achievements, the 54-year-old decided to use the moment to question why Beyoncé had lost out on 'Album of the Year' yet again to Swift.

Channeling a similar energy to Kanye West's 2009 VMAs speech, Jay-Z said: "Obviously it's subjective because, you know, it's music and it's opinion-based. But, you know, some things - I don't want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than everyone and never won 'Album of the Year'.

"So even by your own metrics, that doesn't work. Think about that. The most Grammys, never won 'Album of the Year'. That doesn't work.

"You know, some of you gonna go home tonight and feel like you've been robbed. Some of you may get robbed. Some of you don't belong in a category. No, when I get nervous I tell the truth."

However, not everyone was a fan of Jay-Z's 'truth' telling.

Some people viewed the speech as pretty ironic because despite Jay-Z's intentions to defend and honor his partner, they believe Beyoncé actually looked 'embarrassed' by it all.

One X user said: "Jay-Z is literally the WORST speech giver in life.. Beyoncé literally looks embarrassed."

"Beyoncé was so embarrassed, omg," another added.

A third commented: "Beyoncé is so embarrassed omfg he’s gonna get a firm talking to sksksksk."

And a fourth added: "Beyonce so embarrassed. She agrees tho."

However, others defended the rapper and argued he wouldn't have given the speech without giving Beyoncé a head's up first.

A social media user wrote: "I don’t get how so many of yall thought Beyoncé was embarrassed by Jays speech. I’m sure she knew EXACTLY what points he was about to make up there, and I bet a few of those words were hers as well! They might be two bodies, but I’m sure they’re one mind."

"If you watched this and thought Beyoncé was embarrassed or shocked….I got news for you. lol. That’s her HUSBAND. I guarantee that man made it clear he was going up there to cut tf up. As a fellow artist. As a fan. And as a HUSBAND," another added.

And a final resolved: "i'm sorry maybe yall know a side of Beyonce i dont know....but what makes yall think she was 'embarrassed'?"
