A former teammate of David Beckham has spoken about his experience of the retired soccer star amid Brooklyn Beckham's bombshell post about his parents.
The eldest child of Victoria and David criticized his parents earlier this week and stated he has no plans for reconciliation with his family. In a statement shared on Instagram, he went on to say he'd been 'silent for years' and made every effort to keep the family feud 'private'.
Brooklyn alleged that, in his family, 'Brand Beckham comes first' and claimed he had been 'controlled' by his parents for his entire life'.
John O'Kane, who briefly played with Beckham for Manchester United in the 1990s and claims to have lived with the 50-year-old, recently took to social media to speak about the former soccer player.

"I lived with Beckham for few years.. Let's just say he likes to be in TOTAL CONTROL and was OBSESSIVE on PERFECTION," he wrote on X.
"If it took Brooklyn to say this and burn down the so-called perfect family. Brand Beckham should not come before your kids no matter what has happened."
O'Kane later noted that his initial comment 'seems to have popped off' and added that he thought 'Becks controlling/ OCD obsessiveness made him the footballer he was'.
"But whatever has happened with his son, he felt he had to say something. And I STILL believe you do not disown your own children no matter what!" he wrote. "But that’s just me."
David spoke about how 'tiring' living with OCD, a mental health condition that can be characterized by unwanted and intrusive thoughts, can be.

"The fact that when everyone’s in bed I then go around, clean the candles, turn the lights on to the right setting, make sure everywhere is tidy. I hate coming down in the morning and there’s cups and plates and, you know, bowls," the former sports star said in his 2023 Netflix documentary, Beckham.
"I clip the candle wax, I clean the glass, that’s my pet hate, the smoke around the inside of a candle. I know, it’s weird."
Back in 2006, Beckham opened up about his condition and his struggles to stop acting on compulsions.
He said: "I’ve got this obsessive compulsive disorder where I have to have everything in a straight line or everything has to be in pairs. I’ll put my Pepsi cans in the fridge and if there’s one too many then I’ll put it in another cupboard somewhere … everything has to be perfect."
