Charlie Sheen and Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre have buried the hatchet.

The two haven't exactly been on speaking terms for the better part of about 12 years.

It's hard to imagine these two being at odds with each other considering how they made TV magic for nearly a decade.

But they had a very public falling out in 2011 after Sheen called Lorre a 'stupid, stupid man' and a 'little maggot'.

Those were just some of the derogatory comments that led to Sheen's Two and a Half Men contract being torn up.

The TV show went on hiatus at the beginning of that year so Charlie could undergo a substance rehabilitation program in his home.

This was the third such rehab attempt in 12 months.

He was the highest-paid actor on television at the time and was raking in millions for his work.

However, that all came crashing down when he went on a bizarre rant.

He claimed he had 'poetry in my finger tips' and said 'most of the time I'm an F-18, bro' — I'll destroy you in the air'.

Yeah, it was wild.

He made comments about Lorre during this period and some critics called a few of the messages antisemitic.

Keep in mind, this all came shortly before his highly-publicised interview where he claimed he had 'tiger blood' running through his veins and that he was 'winning'.

It's been a long 12 years since then and it seems like Lorre is ready to park that in the past.

When he was getting his new TV show into gear, there was one person he wanted.

Speaking to Variety, Chuck said: “It should be Charlie.

"I remember Charlie was very much engaged in in sports betting and he would tell me stories about it all the time. You know, when things were good.”

Bookie is about a Los Angeles sports betting bookie and the lead role ended up going to stand-up comedian Sebastian Maniscalco.

However, Lorre wanting Sheen involved in the project led them to reconnect.

"I loved working with Charlie on Two and a Half Men," Chuck explained to the outlet.

"We did 170 episodes together before it all fell apart. And more often than not, we had a good time. Assuming he’s in a good place, I’m in a good place.”

He added that he was 'nervous' ahead of meeting up with Sheen against 'but almost as soon as we started talking, I remembered, we were friends once'.

“And that friendship just suddenly seemed to be there again. I don’t want to be too mawkish about it, but it was healing. And he was also totally game to make fun of himself," he said.

"When he came to the table read of that episode, I walked up, and we hugged. It was just great.”
