Nicola Peltz's previous comments about her wedding dress drama appear to contradict claims her husband Brooklyn Beckham made last night (January 19) in his bombshell statement.
Over the last few weeks, rumors of a rift between Brooklyn and the rest of the Beckham family have been ramping up, with Cruz Beckham stating online that he and his parents had been blocked on social media by his older brother.
Now, Brooklyn has taken to Instagram to address the issues himself, criticizing his parents and some of the events leading up to his wedding to wife, Nicola Anne Peltz Beckham, whom he married in 2022.
In part, Brooklyn wrote: "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.

"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family."

He continued: "The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
"Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they'll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out."

Brooklyn spoke about the run-up to his wedding, claiming that his mom, Victoria, canceled making Nicola's dress at 'the eleventh hour'.
He continued: "My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn't stopped. My mom canceled making Nicola's dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress."

However, in an interview from 2022 with Grazia USA, Nicola explained there were just a 'few days' between the changes.

She said: “Well, I was planning on wearing Victoria’s wedding dress and I was truly so excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created. I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story.
"We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by and I didn’t hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn’t make it. So, I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, ‘Well, unfortunately, this can’t happen, so what’s the next step?’
"I’ve been a fan of Valentino and their couture for so long. I was really lucky to be able to travel to [the atelier] to try on the dress. That’s really what happened.”
British Vogue also reported at the time that the Valentino dress was a result of 'a year’s worth of conversations with Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli’s team, two trips to the Rome HQ and two US fittings'.

Which doesn't sound much like the eleventh hour.

The situation with Nicola's dress wasn't the only wedding-related allegation Brooklyn made.
He also said: "Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children."

Elsewhere in the long list of allegations, Brooklyn claimed Victoria 'hijacked' his first dance with his wife.
Brooklyn added: "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.
"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment."
