Britney Spears hits back at mom after claims she threw out daughter's belongings without permission

Britney Spears has taken to social media to respond to her mom's claims she didn't throw out her daughter's 'prized possessions'.

Britney Spears has taken to social media to respond to her mom's post about returning her belongings.

Britney first accused her mom of getting rid of some of her belongings in her recently released memoir The Woman in Me.

The singer claimed some of her 'prized possessions' went missing while she was staying in a mental health facility in 2019 - including a book of her own poetry and writing, and several Madama Alexander dolls, of which she had a collection of around 15.

In the memoir, Britney writes: "When I saw the empty shelves, I felt an overwhelming sadness. [...] And my family had thrown them in the trash, just like they'd thrown me away."

Last week, Britney's mom Lynne Spears took to Instagram to respond, saying she 'would never' get rid of her daughter's dolls or journals, uploading images seemingly proving they were still in the house.

The mom said the items were 'special' to her too and she would be 'happy' to send them back if Britney wanted.

She wrote: "Please let me know and know how much I love you."

However, Britney has since hit back and it doesn't seem like the issue is going to be resolved anytime soon.

Lynne took to Instagram to post pictures of the alleged possessions, offering to send them to Britney.

Britney took to Instagram yesterday (12 November) to share two photographs of her and Taylor Swift, one from 2003 and the other from 2008.

The caption similarly addressed a memory Spears has of the 'Blank Space' singer, however, not without a quick 'ps' addressed to her mom.

Britney's post reads: "This is way back when but kinda cool ... During my Oops Tour, I got a knock at my door. My good friend at the time was the assistant to my manager who was trying to become a manager himself. There was a knock, and then he said, 'I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.' I was like of course !!! He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar I was like wow wow she's unbelievable !!! We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation. Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She's stunning !!! Girl crush.

"Ps mom I love you so so much, but there were three dolls in the cabinets when I went home two years ago … kinda really weird you would take them out and then put them back in … so messed up. Nope, I don't want them. Keep it all. I honestly don't care anymore … honestly though."

UNILAD has contacted Lynne Spears for comment.
