Britney Spears intrigued fans with a cryptic post on Instagram after her husband Sam Asghari confirmed news of their divorce.
The 'Oops I Did It Again' singer has stayed quiet about her relationship after reports emerged earlier this week that she and Asghari, who she married in June 2022, had decided to go their separate ways.
Just hours after TMZ reported that Asghari had moved out, a source familiar with the matter claimed the Iranian-American model had filed for divorce from Spears.

Asghari has now confirmed the news, writing in a post on Instagram that the split came 'after six years of love and commitment to each other'.
"My wife and I have decided to end our journey together," he wrote. "We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.
"Sh** happens. Asking for privacy seems rediclulous [sic] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful."
Spears still hasn't addressed the breakup at the time of writing (18 August), but she's reported to have deleted a lot of the posts which used to feature Asghari.

The singer has also updated her account with a new post today which featured an image of artwork showing two people looking at a small glass bottle in which a third person was trapped.
Spears didn't make any comments about her divorce alongside the post, but she got fans thinking as she posted: "How do you read this ??? It’s interesting !!! I see it as a message in a bottle !!! Or a baby who needs to get out !!! They whisper the poison like in Alice In Wonderland and they wait to see if they have the cure !!! Wise birds know who they are !!!"
The artwork came a couple of days after Spears announced some plans for the future, sharing a picture of herself sitting on a horse and announcing she was going to buy one of the animals for herself.

Posting after the reports of her split from Asghari first emerged, Spears wrote: "Buying a horse soon!!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar??? I can’t make up my mind !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on ??? Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar."
Asghari hasn't added any comments about the break up since his statement, but images of his and Spears' wedding day are still live on his account.
