Amanda Bynes reveals she had bleph surgery after fans questions her appearance changing

The She's The Man star opened up in response to comments made online

Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes has opened up about having a blepharoplasty procedure after fans began to comment on her changing appearance.

Having starred in some iconic childhood favorites like The Amanda Show and She's The Man, Bynes is a familiar face to millions of people across the globe.

The actor's most recent credit came in 2010 when she appeared in Easy A alongside Emma Stone, but she's since kept fans in the loop with her life with posts on social media.

The updates from Bynes have prompted some fans to call attention to changes in her appearance since her years in the spotlight, so yesterday (11 December), she took to Instagram to respond to the comments.

In the post on her Story, Bynes explained that she has undergone a blepharoplasty; a cosmetic procedure to remove excess skin or fat from the eyelids.

“I was never open about this before, but I actually had blepharoplasty surgery on the skinfolds and the corner of my eyes," Bynes said. "So, I don’t have those skinfolds anymore."

As she showed off the results of the procedure, Bynes said it was 'one of the best things' she could have ever done for her self-confidence.

"It made me feel a lot better in my skin, so I just wanted to post about that just to clear up that rumor as to why I have a new look,” Bynes continued.

“I feel a lot better now about myself, and I’m so glad I had the blepharoplasty surgery. It was one of the greatest things I could’ve ever done.”

The news of her procedure comes after Bynes was released last March from her nearly nine-year-long conservatorship, which had been granted to her mother, Lynn.

Following the judge's ruling to end the conservatorship, Bynes said in a statement to People: "In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter."

Bynes' revelation prompted a range of responses from fans, many of who criticized the comments that made her feel she needed to speak out in the first place.

"I hate how Amanda Bynes saw ya’ll [sic] commentary on her looks and felt the need to address it. Leave her alone," one frustrated fan posted on X.

Another commented: "So now Amanda Bynes is having to explain why she looks so different like WHO CARES? leave this woman alone we all know the things she’s been through and a major source of that is bc of the public. We should be glad she’s finally safe and healthy."

Bynes' latest project is a new podcast which she launched on Saturday (8 December), titled Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast.
