Johnny Depp Joins TikTok And Immediately Gains Over Two Million Followers

He's got a lot of catching up to do

Following a victory in his defamation trial against Amber Heard, Johnny Depp has joined TikTok where he immediately gained over two million followers.

The 58-year-old actor became a key talking point on the video sharing platform, where millions of fans showed their support for him as the trial unfolded across April and May.

Amid the overwhelming support, Depp has now created an official TikTok account under the handle @JohnnyDepp – and despite the fact he's yet to post a video, he's already amassed 2.4 million followers.

His bio simply states 'Occasional Thespian' and he's got the blue tick, so you know it's official.

Given the scale of the outpouring of support for the Pirates of the Caribbean star on the platform, it's no surprise fans were excited to see he's now joined.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "He’s got his official account up @johnnydepp on TikTok, nothing posted yet. If I was him I’d be catching up on all the videos."

Another said: "Can't believe Johnny Depp got me checking TikTok first thing in the morning, and the king already has 2.3 million followers!"

"Johnny Depp is on TikTok. His friends confirmed it’s him," commented a third. "The way it’s been like less than a day since he joined the platform without posting anything and he has almost 2 million followers so far. King behaviour."

Whether or not Depp will serve the fans and share some videos is yet to be seen, but as pointed out by many, he's got some serious catching up to do.

Beyond social media, the Edward Scissorhands actor has been busy following his court battle against Heard over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post.

The star has numerous guest appearances amid Beck's ongoing UK tour, having first surprised fans in Sheffield while he awaited the verdict.

At the end of last week, Depp took to the stage yet again at a show in Gateshead, where fans gathered outside the venue to try and catch a glimpse of the star when he left.

In one clip filmed by an excited bystander, he leans over to make the following quip: "You have five, I have four and seven eighths."

It's unclear what led to Depp making the comment, but it's evident he was referring to his severed finger as he waved his hand to show it to the fan.
