Jennifer Lopez was forced to deny dating co-star who she shared sex scene with while he was sat right next to her

Jennifer Lopez and Ryan Guzman opened up on the dating rumours after filming The Boy Next Door.

Jennifer Lopez was awkwardly forced to deny dating her co-star while he was sat right next to her.

You might remember that J Lo and Ryan Guzman once starred in 2015 erotic thriller The Boy Next Door.

As the film featured a number of sex scenes, rumours of the pair being romantically entangled quickly spread.

Check out the raunchy trailer below:

The film follows charming 19-year-old teen Noah (Ryan Guzman) who moves in next door from newly separated high-school teacher Claire Peterson (Jennifer Lopez).

Noah strikes up a friendship with Claire's son, but the teen's attraction to Claire is palpable.

One night, Claire gives in to the temptation, but Noah's behaviour takes a disturbing turn when Claire admits she regrets their night of passion.

Well, after the pair had a lot of on-screen sex, romantic rumours started to circulate.

During a press junket for the movie, a journalist asked the pair if they were dating, and J Lo was forced to awkwardly shut down the speculation in front of her co-star.

"There's enough stuff that goes on, then to be making stuff up... We don't need to make anything up," the singer told HuffPost Live.

"The truth is, it's fine for us to say, 'No, we're not dating' because we're not. If we were dating and we didn't want to say it then we'd be like, 'We don't want to talk about it'.

"You can handle it in any way that feels good to you. At the end of the day you are still a human being, you're a person and then you have to lay down at night put your head on a pillow and feel good about what you're doing or what you did.

"Whatever that is for that person in that moment is what they should do."

Both actors were not entertaining the rumours.

Guzman added: "For me it was just like 'why is everybody asking all of these questions?'

"No one was interested in me, not even a couple months ago.

"It's crazy and I don't think either of us came in wanting fame or anything.

"Now that I'm starting to get some notoriety, and now that we're hanging out, and having fun, and just enjoying each other's time while promoting the film, people are speculating and creating their own stories for us without us even speaking."
