Jennifer Aniston reveals difficult IVF journey for a baby and says she wishes she froze her eggs

The actor also condemned the tabloid media for spinning a narrative of her being ‘selfish’ for not pursuing motherhood.

Jennifer Aniston has opened up about IVF and advises older women to freeze their eggs.

While sitting down with Allure, the Friends star revealed her tumultuous road of ‘baby-making’ and how she tried just about every procedure, which according to her, was especially hard to do in the public eye.

She said: "All the years and years of speculation... It was really hard.

"I was going through IVF, drinking Chinese teas, you name it."

She added: "I would've given anything if someone had said to me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favour.' You just don't think it. So here I am today.

"The ship has sailed."

But despite this, the A-lister said she has ‘no regrets’.

She added: “I actually feel a little relief now because there is no more, ‘Can I? Maybe. Maybe. Maybe.’ I don’t have to think about that anymore.”

Anniston said that while she prioritized her career, the media spun this narrative of her being ‘selfish’ for not pursuing motherhood.

She said: “I just cared about my career. And God forbid a woman is successful and doesn’t have a child.

"And the reason my husband left me, why we broke up and ended our marriage, was because I wouldn’t give him a kid.

"It was absolute lies.

"I don’t have anything to hide at this point.”

The actor also noted how the tabloid gossip magazines frequently reported that she had a ‘baby bump’. Seriously, people get out of her uterus.

In 2016, Aniston famously wrote an op-ed in the Huffington Post to condemn the media’s treatment of women and speculation of pregnancy.

She wrote: “For the record, I am not pregnant. What I am is fed up. I’m fed up with the sport-like scrutiny and body shaming that occurs daily under the guise of ‘journalism,’ the ‘First Amendment’ and ‘celebrity news’”.

She also slammed the ‘disgusting’ scrutiny of women and young girls, especially regarding their personal lives.

She added: “We are complete with or without a mate, with or without a child. We get to decide for ourselves what is beautiful when it comes to our bodies. That decision is ours and ours alone.”

Aniston concluded: “We get to decide how much we buy into what’s being served up, and maybe some day the tabloids will be forced to see the world through a different, more humanized lens because consumers have just stopped buying the bulls**t.”

Amen, Rachel!
