Jeffree Star has been slammed for his views on non-binary they/them pronouns after describing them as 'bulls***'.

The 37-year-old YouTuber, who rose to fame with his make-up tutorials, has garnered quite the following over the years.

Though he's carved himself a highly successful career as the owner and founder of Jeffree Star Cosmetics, he's faced a number of controversies - the latest being his pronouns comment.

During a recent episode of Taylor Lewan’s Bussin With The Boys podcast, Star said he's 'not into all the other bulls***'.

When asked what he meant by this, he replied: "The 'they' and 'them', and all that extra s*** that we added during the pandemic because everyone was so bored in their f***ing houses.

"They just started to make up more s*** and more stuff."

Star went on to say: "That's why the conservatives like me, because I'm just real... you're not 'they' and 'them', you're trans, you're male or you're female.

"People get so mad when I say that. How are you a ‘they'? What the f*** does that mean?

"It’s stupid, is what it is. But you need someone like me that looks like me to say it. Because if you [Lewan] say it, it turns into you’re homophobic, you hate trans people, you hate gays, and it’s just how you feel.

"You don’t hate anyone, you just think it’s stupid."

The make-up mogul said he doesn't agree with 'they/them' pronouns.

Star has faced a fair bit of flak for the comments, with some suggesting that he's gone against his previous views in order to make money.

Taking to Twitter, one person shared a 2017 video of the make-up mogul in which he says: "Gender ambiguity can be found in makeup, fashion, sexual identity, gender identity, anything."

Alongside the clip, they wrote: "So just in case it wasn’t already clear, Jeffree Star is the grifter who will throw the entire LGBTQ+ community under the bus if it makes him that bag."

Another who shared the podcast segment wrote: "This was actually disgusting to hear coming straight out of his mouth. I am not exaggerating."

"Jeffree Star capitalized off of gender fluidity and androgyny but wants to sit there and say nonbinary ppl/genderfluid ppl/ppl who use they them pronouns aren't real? F*** off," added a third.

"He will literally say anything and do anything for fame and to be accepted by straight cis men."

Star has since responded to the backlash in an Instagram Story in which he threatened to take legal action against media outlets that 'lie on my name'.

"Over the last few days, I have learned that being yourself, having an opinion, not always agreeing with everyone, those three things are scary to the average bear," he said.

Star later added: "What we're not going to do is lie on my name. So anyone creating a lie, meaning the media outlet, I'm going to Cardi B you.

"I'm going to file a lawsuit because you are f***ing lying on my name... All I said was this I don't agree with pronouns. That's it."
