Ezra Miller Arrested In Hawaii For Second Time

According to Hawaii Police, Miller, 29, became ‘irate’ after being asked to leave a ‘get together at a private residence’

Just weeks after landing themselves in trouble with police, actor Ezra Miller has been arrested again in Hawaii, this time for second-degree assault after allegedly throwing a chair at a woman.

According to Hawaii Police, Miller, who uses the they-them pronouns, became ‘irate’ after being asked to leave a ‘get together at a private residence’. The 29-year-old then launched a chair, which hit a 25-year-old woman in the head.

Officers were called to a property in Pāhoa, on Hawaii’s Big Island, in the early hours of Tuesday, 19 April, following reports that an assault had taken place.

Miller, known for starring in The Flash and the Fantastic Beasts series, was arrested at 1.30am after being located on a road during a traffic stop, and was subsequently released pending further investigation.

A statement from Hawaii Police Department said: "Shortly after 1am on Tuesday April 19 2022, a 29-year-old visitor from Vermont was arrested for second-degree assault after an incident at a residence in Pahoa.

“During the course of their investigation, police determined that the individual, later identified as Ezra Miller, became irate after being asked to leave and reportedly threw a chair, striking a 26-year-old female on the forehead, resulting in an approximate half-inch cut.

"The female victim refused treatment for her injury.”

The statement continued: "Miller, who identifies as they/them, was subsequently arrested at 1:30 a.m. for Assault in the second degree after being located on the roadway during a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 130 and Kukula Street in Kea‘au.

"After conferring with the County Prosecutor’s Office, at 4:05 a.m. on Tuesday morning Miller was released pending further investigation. This is an active investigation."

The arrest comes less than a month after Miller was arrested for disorderly conduct and harassment in Hilo, Hawaii, having been taken into police custody on 28 March after they 'became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke’.

According to Hawaii Police Department, Miller ‘began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke’, which related to the disorderly conduct offence. They later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts, which landed them with an additional harassment offence.

The owner of the bar asked Miller to calm down ‘several times’ but to ‘no avail’.

After being arrested and charged on both offences, Miller had their bail set at $500, which they posted before being released.
